Hi, I’m Ayana and I’m a serial hobbyist.
There, I’ve gotten my addiction out in the open and now it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone else that I’ve picked another new hobby. Can you blame me? There are so many cool things along the aisles of Michael’s and Hobby Lobby!
My latest endeavor was a case of your classic “hey I could make that!” declarations after seeing something I wanted online. Resin letters. Huh.
I found some on Instagram about a month ago and kept thinking…those look so cool I want some. I had no clue how on earth someone could go about making them, but buying some were on my list. Then a friend posted something about a silicone mold and that mold was the same font as the letters I wanted. Cue the music, cue the lightbulbs, I had hatched a plan.
“What’s the plan here?” asked my husband one night as I excitedly talked about my plan to make these letters and sell them. I looked at him a bit sideways as he’s currently knee deep in one of his own projects. He has the same addiction as me but his are more ‘business’ and less ‘hobby’.
My plan with these letters is pretty simple. A fun hobby for me, maybe a little side cash, and the best part…fun, personalized learning tools for your child. Whether you have a little one in school, homeschooling, virtual learning, or a toddler who is still learning the alphabet, these letters are for you. Are you a college student with a shockingly bare fridge door? I can add magnets for a few dollars more!
Do you want just your child’s name, with their favorite characters or colors inside? I can do that!
Learning math, counting, or numbers? I’ve got your back.
I’m still learning and I hope that I will only improve over time, but I appreciate any support along the way and your purchases always make me do a little dance!
Here are a few ways you can use your letters:
- Decoration (For example just a name or a phrase)
- Fridge/Dry erase board/art easel magnets
- Sensory bin play
- Play dough stamping
- Spelling, matching letters, math practice with numbers
- Mystery box letters. Feel them and guess what they are!
And so much more! The possibilities are endless with these early literacy tools that can be simple learning letters, or timeless keepsakes. You decide when you choose what design/color/style you want your letters to be! OR you can always choose a set that is ready to ship. I will make sets from time to time that are RTS so you don’t have to choose a style. If you would like a particular theme, it may take a bit longer but it will always be worth it!
