I love documenting our yearly beach trips on the blog. It’s so fun to look back and see traditions being built and memories being made. Not to mention our babies growing!!

This year our suits were gifted to us from SwimZip! They have the cutest designs and the genius design for little kids. Just like the name states, they zip right off! Thus eliminating the need to peel the wet sandy suits off your kids big ole’ heads.

They also protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays, which is a huge win in my book. Our whole family is pasty white and pretty bad at tanning.

Our suits were gifted to us, but my opinions are always 100% my own!
I will mention that it’s important to read the wash instructions AND make sure you wash them right away and don’t let them sit. You would think those things would be obvious but hey, I never claimed to be perfect.

I washed Leopold’s suit maybe 3 times (and dried) and after the last time, the metal part of the zipper completely ripped off. That’s when I checked the tag and it said hand wash cold, line dry. Oops. π
Finley’s suit got a few spots of mold on it, and I’m still trying to figure out if I can get rid of that…if you have any tips feel free to leave them in the comments! I’m so annoyed at myself!
This would be Finley’s first beach trip so I was pretty excited to introduce her to the sun and sand and salty waves!

We partnered with Mazda for this trip as well and you can read all about our experience in the CX-9 in this post!
As I’ve mentioned in past blog posts, we go to the beach for Memorial Day weekend with some friends who have a condo there. It’s an awesome way to spend a quick weekend with great people! (You can read about years past HERE and HERE)

We apparently have two beach loving kids so we have had to get over our general lack of interest in going to the beach. My husband is still indifferent but I’ve come to love the beach a lot more after seeing it through my children’s eyes.
Things we like to do while visiting “dirty Myrtle” are: Tanger Outlet shopping, beach time, pool time, and of course, Broadway at the Beach!

My husband and I love the kitschy vibe of Broadway. This year it was just TOO HOT though. We really tried to make it work but even going early in the morning to avoid the crowds (Memorial Day weekend is also Black Bike Week in Myrtle so it’s extra crowded) and the heat…but it didn’t work! We were constantly darting in and out of shops and shade to save ourselves from the heat.

I did get myself a wine slushie so it was a success regardless.
Another favorite activity is taking an evening stroll and getting photos while the kids get soaking wet and sandy. This year, James and Leopold got into a big ‘sand fight’. The two of them had a blast laughing and throwing wet sand back and forth…until Leopold ducked when James thew a mud ball and it hit Leopold square in the eye. Poor boy HATES having water in his eyes so you can imagine how awful it was trying to clean his eyes out!

Going to the beach with two little ones isn’t always easy but it’s definitely worth it!
