Anyone else SO READY for cooler weather?
I’ve never been a fan of summers. I tend to avoid the blistering heat and smothering humidity, and I’ve never been a fan of showing off my legs. When I was in middle and high school, I wore jeans 24/7, even in the summer because I was so uncomfortable with showing any leg.
Having a summer pregnancy is no joke, either. As hot as I am regularly in summers is practically doubled when I’m pregnant. Needless to say, we don’t take as many walks as I’d like! In my ideal world, I throw on my cute sporty clothes, get my jogging stroller, and take my son and my pup for daily walks. In reality, I can hardly muster up the motivation to get us all dressed and ready! Once we hit the pavement I tire easily and have to pee every 15-20 minutes. Plus…it’s SO HOT.
In spring, my husband won’t go outside at all because of the pollen. It gets so bad here that it totally blocks his sinuses to the point of hardly being able to breathe. I don’t like to walk by myself, so that’s out the window too.
I’ve been on the hunt for a good piece of indoor exercise equipment that doesn’t take up a lot of space or make a lot of noise. I wanted to find something that I would actually USE, too.
Recently I came across the FlexiSpot Bike V9 — Deskcise Pro EPK and it has everything I need for my daily workout!!
It arrived super fast after the order was placed. They sent me a tracking link and it actually showed up on my door that very night! It was probably 3-4 days total, maybe less.
The Bike V9 is a very solid piece of workout equipment so you will probably need a hand getting it in the door (poor UPS guy) and set up where you want it to live. Luckily my husband was home when it arrived and was able to bring it in for me!
Once we got it upstairs, assembly was a breeze. It came in only two pieces. The desktop and the actual bike (as well as maybe four pieces of hardware in a bag). To put it together, you simply pull the four wheels out until they click into place, then lower the pedals out so you can put your feet on them. Slide the desktop on and insert the hardware to keep it stable and there you have it! The pedals come with rubber grips to make riding more comfortable (even barefoot).
As far as riding experience, I’m SUPER pleased!
The seat is very padded and comfortable (although I definitely went numb ‘down there’ after about 20 minutes…but that might have been a pregnancy thing). You can raise and lower the seat to your comfort level easily with a lever on the side, and the desktop also comes with two levers for adjusting with ease. You can move the desk up and down and also forward and back.
We were a little concerned at first, before we realized that it was adjustable! You should have seen my husband trying to bike with his long legs spread out like a frog so they wouldn’t hit the desk. Hilarious! When I got on and my knees bumped the desk too, we knew it had to adjust somehow (coming from the people who only half read the instructions).
The Bike V9 is very easy to move since it sits on wheels, but it’s so sturdy that it doesn’t wobble or slide around while you’re on it.
I’m also very impressed with the desktop! It is very sturdy and doesn’t seem to be affected by the motion of the pedals. This makes it so easy to work on your computer, read a book, fill out your calendar, or even just play on your phone! I even keep my water bottle on the desk with no issues. There is also a shallow cup holder in the section between your legs if you feel more comfortable keeping your water bottle there.
There are 8 different resistance levels, and the bike keeps track of your distance traveled. It runs on batteries which at first I was a little put off by, but I don’t imagine they will die any time soon since it seems all that the batteries operate is the small digital screen. I have had my resistance level at 5 and my husband likes his at 6. Maybe soon we will up our game ;).
The Flexispot Bike V9 is a game changer in this house because now we don’t have any excuse not to be active a little bit every day. Now I can workout using the bike V9 while I watch Netflix or write up a blog post. I can be productive and active at the same time! That’s a huge deal for this busy mama!!
I also have to mention how quiet the Bike V9 is.
Most bikes or treadmills make a good bit of noise but this thing is whisper quiet, which has me thinking I’ll feel confident sneaking in a workout (after my doctor gives me the okay) after baby is born! Maybe even with the baby in the same room!
The desk is set high enough that my toddler can’t reach it, which is nice if I’m working on something that I don’t want to move every time I get on and off!
Do you have a favorite workout machine? Is it the treadmill? Stationary bike? Maybe a stair stepper? Do you keep any of those machines in your home, or do you do something different?
I love that I can sneak in a workout without feeling overwhelmed. No more dressing for the gym, figuring out what to do with my toddler, or worrying about the heat/rain/cold. Thanks so much to Flexispot for helping to encourage an active lifestyle no matter what my day may look like!
I work from home full time and SO need this! It looks awesome.
Yes, it really is so cool! It has me wanting to get my laptop out and dust it off…I prefer my desktop but hey if I can multi task, I’m all for it!
This is so cool!! I sent the link to the hubs! He works from home so I can totally see him incorporating this into his work day. And then I can steal it ?. Great review!
hahaha you definitely should do that!! I bet you would both love it! And thank you! <3
omg, this looks so fun… and i don’t even have a kid to get interested about this flexispotbike. 😀
i’m single and i work from home most of the time, and i gotta admit that i rarely do exercise because of this. and this this looks super handy as we can do exercise while working at the same time!
i wonder when they will enter indonesian market. thanks for sharing! 😀
Haha you definitely don’t need to be a parent!! They are VERY cool. Did you check their site, they may ship outside the US! It’s perfect for busy bloggers 🙂
the little work tray is genius – I would love to have this machine in my house – the only thing I don’t agree with in this whole post is wanting summer to be over lol – I am always hoping for an endless summer!
LOL You sound like my sister! She’s a summer lover for sure! Fall and the holiday months are my favorite as I have a low tolerance for heat!!!
