This week has been uneventful as far as this pregnancy goes. Uneventful is pretty good I suppose!
Over the last couple of days I’ve felt her move when I’m laying on my back at night. Not a lot, but enough! Still hating this anterior placenta but hoping it shifts pretty soon so I can feel baby move more.
We went to my sister’s house this weekend for a visit. She lives two hours away and Leopold did GREAT and didn’t have any accidents at all! For the first time he actually walked up to me in the store and said ‘Hey mom, I need to poop!’ so we went to the bathroom and he went! We didn’t even have his potty insert that we usually use for stability. I’m so proud! We attended a cousin’s first birthday and had way too much sugar, and got lots of quality time with my sister and her family. He loves them all so much!
On Monday we went Strawberry picking with our mommy group! It was really fun and I’m glad we made it happen since we have gone every year of Leopold’s life so far. I’m happy to start some new traditions with him!

This week my husband started his new job. We are all very relieved he finally found something because it was starting to feel like it would never happen! It’s a really good job but it’s an adjustment going back to the 8-5 life. He’s tired, I’m tired, and neither of us feel like we are being treated fairly after 5pm. He wants to relax and do nothing (understandably) but I also don’t want to have to do EVERYTHING. But I guess that’s part of being a wife and mom. It’s a never ending thankless job that doesn’t get the credit it deserves.
A ‘Last dinner’ before Daddy started his new job!
Leopold has been exhibiting major ‘terrible twos’ behavior this week and I’m curious if maybe it’s related to James going back to work. Once we got the week rolling and he got to see his friends a few times, things calmed down a little.
Aside from being extra exhausted and a little miserable, I hardly notice this pregnancy. I’m getting rounder and the urge to pee every 5 minutes has finally subsided, although I’m sure in a month or two it will be back. I finally enjoy eating veggies again, so I’ve had a salad almost every day, loaded with cucumbers, carrots, broccoli, celery, strawberries and blueberries. So yummy.
How far along? 20 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Not much
Maternity clothes? Snagged a couple new big tees from my brother in law ;p
Stretch marks? Nothing new yet. I keep getting random bumps on my belly, whether from chafing or hormones but they are annoying!
Sleep: Actually a little better this week since I’m not sick anymore. BUT my husband is working now and getting up at 6am so that’s a lot of fun.
Best moment this week: Spending the weekend with Leopold at my sister’s house!
Have you told family and friends: Yep!
Name: We have a first name chosen…still working on that middle name! We have a few on the list but nothing has stuck yet. Not sure when I’ll announce it!
Movement: Not much due to anterior placenta. Can feel her a little more when I’m laying down on my back and being still at night.
Food cravings: Nothing really notable.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not much this week.
Have you started to show yet: Yep! Not as round as last time due to my darling love handles but there is a bump for sure!
Gender prediction: According to my Sneak Peek blood test at 12 weeks, it’s a girl! Confirmed by ultrasound!
Belly Button in or out? In! I’ve got a relatively deep belly button. Even last time I think it just got level with my belly and didn’t protrude.
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but some days my patience is very thin. Especially if I’m sick or have a headache. Trying to adjust to my husband being back to a regular work week so I’ve been a little more moody this week.
Things I’ve gotten for baby so far: A LOT of clothes, a bunch of hand me downs back that we loaned out, a car seat from a friend, Some snuggly blankets from Saranoni, & a sweet double stroller from Kinderwagon! This week I added Lucy the Lamb from Cuddle and Kind to the pile, as well as some great bandana bibs from Little Kims New York. Oh, and a giant pink elephant!
We got some new pants and headbands from Prickly Pineapple Boutique this week! We also received the Lollipop baby camera to review so that’s one less thing I need to worry about! I just ordered a bunch of bows too!
On my wish list: Natursutten pacis, Slumberkins, a Dock A Tot, a moses basket, a gift card to Lowes for paint, a gift card to Ikea for shelves and closet storage, hangers, curtains, hair bows, and diapers and wipes!
