I’ve always said I would wait until my baby started climbing out of the crib before we transitioned. With all of the cute toddler beds available, it’s so hard for me to wait!
Deep down, though, I know it’s best for Leopold that I don’t rush him into anything he may not be ready for. He is happy, content, and comfortable in his crib. He sleeps great, and I definitely don’t want to jeopardize that!
I was so excited to receive our DockATot in the mail a few weeks ago. I know this baby is going to make our future transition that much easier! Currently, we have been using it in his bed, for travel, and for lounging. The DockATot is so versatile and comfy that you can use it in almost any situation!
It comes in a zippered bag with handles for easy transport. There is also a cardboard insert to use while traveling so that the bottom will hold it’s shape. It’s easy to take off the cover for washing, too. I also love how many adorable prints are available in both sizes! We chose the banana leaf print and I’m so glad…it’s so cute and works perfectly in his animal themed room!
I know that when we eventually switch Leopold to a toddler bed, using the DockATot will make the switch go more smoothly. I’m all about products that help make life easier!
Since Leopold is sleeping in his DockATot most nights (not recommended for infants, btw), he is used to it. Once we put him in a big boy bed, we will put the DockATot on his new bed and it won’t seem that foreign to him. That’s my hope, anyway. Familiarity is a big deal for little kids!
A lot of people have asked me what you would even use a DockATot for, and I love telling them our plans. I think it’s kind of a brilliant strategy, but that’s just me.
Last weekend we had company over and I didn’t want Leopold sleeping in his own room. My brother in law and his new girlfriend came over to stay during the holidays…I had never met her! We put up the pack and play in our room and threw the DockATot in it. It worked perfectly and Leopold slept great!
I’ve never heard of this and we are getting ready to switch my youngest into a bed, and I’m dreading it. Going to check it out!
You should! I am nervous about the eventual switch too! You can do it mama!
I’ve never heard of this, but it sounds like a very useful product. I wish I had this back when my kids were little! My cousin has a toddler and this would be perfect for her kids!
I’m sure it would be!! We love ours!
I’ve heard some wonderful things about these! He looks so snug and comfortable!
He definitely is!!
This is a great idea for transitioning! I didn’t know you could use this product like that.
I think it’s pretty clever if I say so myself!
I was lucky enough to not need the DockATot (trust me, we know how lucky we’ve been with these 2!) but my friend uses it and swears by it!
Wow, you were lucky with both kids?! That’s great!
What a brilliant idea, I really wish there was something like this when my kids were little. It would have made life so much easier. You little Leopold sure looks so content and comfortable with his DockaTot (love that name, it’s so appropriate) Good luck with the transition Ayana, I’m sure he’ll be fine and love his new big boy bed
Thank you!! I sure hope so too!! He does really seem to love it…we just built his new bed and will let him get used to it in his room before we fully transition him!
