2017 in Review and Plans for 2018

Mom Life

best nine 2017 yearIt’s been quite a year for Little Prince Leopold!

With the help of some fellow blogger mamas and the encouragement of my husband and family, I was able to start this blog up at the beginning of 2017.

Some months were slower than others. Life happened, and sometimes I felt discouraged and slowed my pace. I took off some weekends and even weeks at a time. No matter what, I’ve kept going. No matter how slow I went, I didn’t stop.

I started the year off with a brand new blog, about 200 followers on Instagram, and hardly anything else to speak of. I had my personal accounts and that’s it.

Now, I have a blog that I’m proud of and can say I understand a little better than I used to. I am really not great at all of this tech stuff, so it’s taken a lot of google searches and desperate pleas to get where I am!

In 2018, I want to get to know the guts of my blog a little better. I want to learn how to change things around and keep it looking fresh without having to ask for help all the time.

In 2018, I want to get more sponsored work on my blog, which means getting more page views too.

It’s my goal to keep my content fresh and relevant to what my readers want to see.

My Instagram has grown an incredible amount this year. I like working with Instagram the best, because I love the sense of community I feel there. I have definitely pushed the hardest on that platform and I’m excited to see what 2018 brings for my Instagram.

Like I said, I started out with around 200 followers and it looks like I’ll end the year at 8,000 followers. That’s incredible to me! I don’t buy likes or followers, but I do work really hard to get them! I strive to engage with my followers and those that I’m following. My goal is for my Instagram to be authentic and relateable and not some cookie cutter picture perfect fantasy world.

My goal is to see my Instagram grow beyond 10k followers next year! I’m certain I can make it happen, too. I’d like to keep my engagement up and continue to get sponsored work for my Instagram as well.

Ideally, I would love to start bringing in slightly more regular income with my blog and Instagram in 2018.

Thank you so much to those of you who follow along! I love you guys and wouldn’t be where I am if it weren’t for you!

Every like, comment and share from you gets me closer to my goals and I couldn’t be more grateful to those of you who interact with my posts!

Here are a few of my favorite posts from this year:

An Open Letter to My Mama in Heaven (if you want to cry, you should read this one)

How I Got Married for Under $1000 (My gorgeous garden wedding!)

The Munchie Mug: The Last Snack Cup You Will Ever Need (The first brand I worked with! I’ll forever be grateful to them)

Road Trip Survival Tips for Traveling with a Toddler (a pretty awesome list if you ask me)

Adventures in Potty Training my 21 Month Old (we regressed. Terribly. But this is still good advice!)

What Did My Toddler Eat this Week? First Edition (I love working with this brand, and it was so fun making these dishes!)

Leopold’s Bedroom Update: After (I worked pretty hard on this room! I love a good ‘after’)

I love all of my posts, to be honest. Mostly because there was  a lot of work and love put into each one. I hope to post a good bit more this next year!

Here’s to 2018, that it is a successful and happy year for all of us!

What’s your biggest goal for the new year?!

Love this! It’s nice to hear of blogs that are able to organically grow. I wish you the best of luck for the following years, and I totally hear you on the “200 followers” page. I started with zero this summer and ended with 250. It can be frustrating sometimes when you put so much energy into something but don’t get exposure. Maybe 2018 will be my year too. 😉

I love taking allllll the photos when we go camping- it helps me remember all the sweet moments and eventually I forget the stressful bits, or setting up camp and breaking it down by myself, or whining and complaining 😅. I'm trying to get the kids more used to helping with the setup but it's not without a bit of "mooOooMm whyyyy" from them 🙄😂.

Do you drink ACV?? I started drinking this daily a Do you drink ACV?? I started drinking this daily after I heard a woman on the podcast I listen to (Solo cleaning school) say she drank this every day and never got sick. I know the odds are against me with 2 kids, but I've heard so many good things about Apple cider vinegar, I'm trying it! So far so good! It's hard to pinpoint exactly what I'm doing that's making me feel good- working out, vitamins, water, ACV, etc, but I'm sure it's a solid combo of a few of those 😝. Self care is fun!
