If you have seen any of my past beach posts you will know that it’s not my favorite place to go.
I am a cooler weather/mountain person. I’m THRILLED to see fall creeping in. I still love to take a weekend off of “the usual” and go to the beach with family and friends. Like I’ve mentioned before, Leopold loves the beach/ocean/water so much that it’s hard for me not to love it too! Seeing his face light up as the waves wash over his tiny toes is worth all the frizzy hair and sticky skin.
We are super lucky to have some great friends who happen to have a condo in the family. Not only is it great to get to spend time at the beach without spending a fortune, we all love hanging out together. Our kids are only two weeks apart and adore each other. The little girl is clever and talkative just like Leopold.
This is our third time going to the beach as a group with hopefully more trips to come! We usually only stay for a three day weekend but when you have toddlers that’s often just enough time!
Here are some photos from our trip plus some items I brought that made it more fun!
This beach blanket + baby pool is probably one of my favorite beach products I’ve reviewed so far.
It folds up so neatly into it’s carrying bag, which conveniently doubles as a water bucket! One side is meant to be used as a beach/picnic blanket and the other is meant for a baby pool! The gang made a bit of a mess of what was supposed to be my ‘Instagram worthy’ hole but the general idea is there!
It was a bit breezy and the kids were eager to hop in the hole so it was a rush job and we had to put sand over the sides to hold it down. I absolutely love this concept! It makes a great little spot for little ones to play and splash around in the shade or out of the bigger waves, and the fish and coral makes it super cute! My child hopped out and ran straight back to the ocean but as you can see it’s also a great spot to relax even for grown ups!
You can find one of these lovelies on Ever Earth’s website!
We got our TwistShake baby sippy cup a day or two before we left and it was a great chance to try out this awesome sippy! There is a special insert in the top of the cup that’s made for keeping bigger chunks of fruit out of the top of the cup. I love infusing fruit in my water and now Leopold does too! There are tons of health benefits to adding fruit to your water too. I cut up a bunch of lemons to freeze and keep in the fridge a bag at a time, so Leopold is really digging his ‘lemon juice’ lately. It’s extra refreshing too! Go to www.twistshakebaby.com and enter the code Littleprinceleopold40 for 40% off your order!
Also pictured above is one of our silicone snack bags from Silikids that was great to take out on the beach! Leopold did end up ingesting a considerable amount of sand but that was only because he insisted on digging and eating at the same time!
We took our trusty Beachmate that has gotten us through the last few beach and lake trips. We love that thing! I don’t think I got a lot of photos of that but you should go back and check out that post if you haven’t seen it! It’s a must have for beach lovers!
I was so excited to get our meal set from Constructive Eating in time to go to the beach!
It really does make meal time more fun (for me too)! I feel like Leopold will eat more of his food if he is excited about meal time. This plate and the silverware that come with it really do make things exciting! Almost as exciting as feeding two toddlers on chairs with white cushions over white carpet…yikes! Thank goodness for old towels. How cute are these two sharing this string cheese?!?! They also really enjoyed doing ‘cheers’ with their cups, and learning to share some strawberries.
We found these cute ‘matching’ Mickey and Minnie blankets at the Disney store and HAD to get them…just for the photos! But they are SO SOFT and I’m glad we got it. We can never have too many cozy blankets, and it IS fall now…
When you go on vacation with toddlers you have a lot of ‘down time’. Naps are still a priority and there is a lot of time between activities where you’re just getting everyone ready! We got out a good bit but we also spent a good amount of time just chilling, waiting, or resting. I still didn’t get much rest, but I think the kids did!
Love his Popsicle hat? Me too! Find more like it at Lil Caps Hat Co…they are the CUTEST. Seriously!
We had lots of fun exploring Myrtle Beach this trip! Last time we were there during Black Bike Week and didn’t get out in the excitement so it was nice to get out this time! We hit up Tanger outlets the first day and Broadway at the Beach the second day and we still have a little money left! It’s so fun just to people watch and look in the kitschy shops along the strip. We got to try out our backpack from Designs By Humans. I am obsessed with the bright colors and Koi pattern! These bags are all designed by independent artists and those artists get a portion of each backpack sale. How cool is that?
How was your labor day? Did you go out of town or stay at home?
