QALO Rings Aren’t Just for Athletes!
You have probably seen ads for Qalo rings on your facebook or around the internet. I see them all the time! They seem to be geared toward people who workout on the regular. I know a few Crossfitters who swear by them because you can wear them while you do insane workouts and they don’t tear up your hands. Swimming, rock climbing, boat rowing, you name it, these rings are a great solution. You can let the world know you’re married without the risk of ruining your nicer wedding bands (or your fingers)!
As a mom with minimal time for working out (priorities, I know) I can think of a million reasons why these rings aren’t just perfect for people in the fitness world! In this post I’m going to share with you why I think these rings are great for parents, too!
When I was pregnant I was super paranoid about swelling up and not being able to get my rings off. As someone who is slightly claustrophobic this was a terrifying thought. Would they have to be cut off?! I love my rings. My husband (with some help from his mom) did such a great job when he picked them out!
If you read my post about my budget wedding, you already know that the window of time between my engagement and the birth of my child was a small one. We got engaged when I was about 4 months along, and my rings got a little too tight when I was about 8 months pregnant.
For a while I wore cheap Walmart imposters that actually didn’t look too bad.
After a few months they got hazy and gross. I went through two of these before giving up. I spent some time not wearing anything. Then when my mom passed away and we were going through her jewelry I found a ring she used to wear a lot that belonged to my grandma.
At this point I was about 6 months postpartum and not only did my rings (size 7) still not fit, my fingers had grown! At least that’s what it seemed like. My mom’s ring was a size 9 and fit perfectly most days. I dropped the baby weight pretty fast, but then gained ‘breastfeeding weight’ almost as fast. I know breastfeeding is supposed to help you lose weight but such was not the case for me. It made me so hungry. My self control is terrible so from the time my son was born I’ve been stuffing my face non stop.
Long story short, I’m 18 months postpartum and my fingers are fatter than ever.
I needed another solution. My mom’s ring worked great but I was constantly scratching my son on accident. It had three gemstones that were constantly getting gunky from various toddler messes.
I got in touch with Marni over at Qalo and she agreed to send me and my husband some rings. It took a couple of tries but we finally got set up with the perfect sizes. [Side note: AWESOME customer service at Qalo!] My new Qalo ring fits SO well and is so comfortable! It helps that it’s my favorite color and it glows in the dark. As a girl who never really grew up, this is very exciting to me. James’s ring is a simple black band and it suits him so well!
Kids are messy.
Let’s face it. If you have brought a child into the world then you’ve known from day one how messy it gets.
I remember the good old newborn days…Leopold’s gas was so powerful that at times he would shoot poop across the room during diaper changes! Sorry if that was TMI but it’s just one of the joys of parenting. If you have had a kid in diapers and not gotten poo on you at some point, consider yourself lucky!
Babies mean messes.
A whole new level of mess that you never thought you could handle until now. Poop. Spitup. Snot. Vomit. Drool. As a new parent, chances are you have any number of these things on you at any point in time.
As your baby grows into a toddler, the messes get bigger and often more mysterious. Is it poo? Or chocolate? Or maybe mud? First lollipops mean everything gets sticky. Everything. Even a healthy and delicious apple gets much stickier than you could ever prepare yourself for. Art projects become a regular activity. You can expect to have your hands covered in glue, paint, cornstarch mixed with water, play dough, and glitter. Getting glitter or playdough off of a simple silicone band is easy. Getting it out of the corners of your ring that hold your diamond on? Not so easy.
Vacations become more hectic.
If you thought planning a vacation was stressful before kids, think again! Now you can’t just pick up and go with minimal plans and one suitcase. There will be pinterest searches, packing and unpacking, and lots of research and scheduling. Babies and toddlers make everything more interesting. Fun, yes, but lots of work. And also, messy. Somehow, everything that has to do with kids turns into a mess.
If you are going somewhere tropical or just somewhere with a beach, it’s often safer to take your rings off. I know a lot of people who leave their rings in their bag, hotel room, or just at home. It’s better to do this than to risk losing your rings in the ocean! Plus, when sand gets in every possible crevice, it’s worth it to leave them behind than have to clean them! If you have a Qalo ring, you can feel confident leaving your rings at home in the safe. You don’t have to worry about forgetting them when you’re busy trying to remember everything else!
With Qalo rings you have another option when you find yourself in a sticky situation. These rings are super affordable which means you can save your money for more cute baby clothes!
Plus, if you are like me and get swollen fingers during pregnancy (and after) you may want something temporary that won’t turn your finger green. If you need a non-permanent option that looks great and is insanely comfortable, check Qalo rings out!
