Do you know that when someone vomits on you, a special bond is formed? You may argue that it’s not the same when the ‘vomit’ is baby spit up but it’s still pretty gross.
Sure, I get ‘thrown up’ on every day, multiple times a day, but today topped the charts. Elle was in a cranky mood all day. What do you do when a baby is crying and you can’t figure out why? You give them the boob. She had way too much to eat and was still fussy so I walked her around patting her back. One little hiccup and BAM! It got all over both of us, and on the floor. Once K cleaned us up, BAM! She did it again. Poor kid.
After breakfast the gang got in the car and went to town to run errands. Lukas was in a bad mood because he wanted to be home with his Papi. He threw major toddler tantrums pretty much all morning.
We got lattes at the cafe and went to the grocery store. There Lukas proceeded to throw a huge tantrum, causing me to have to carry him kicking and screaming ‘MAMA’ out of the store. I’m sure bystanders thought I was stealing him, since we look nothing alike.
I think in Germany elderly people take it upon themselves to soothe whiny children. Outside the supermarket at least 3 ladies stopped to talk to Lukas. One was successful in calming his down ( I have no clue what she said).

My first night out!
Around 8pm Anna [A local girl who is close to my age] showed up to pick me up. It was a little awkward at first as it usually is the first time you meet someone new. Anna is very nice and welcoming so that made things much easier. We went back to her house and collected her little sister and brother for dinner. The whole family didn’t really speak English but they were all quite nice.
After dinner Anna’s aunts and her mom got ready and went out with us to a huge tent festival [or, ‘Disco’]. The band played pop and rock songs like Elvis and the beach boys and ‘summer of 69’ which is very popular here for some reason. We had some refreshments and danced too! The dancing here is very different from what I’ve witnessed in America. There is actually space between people! I got back to the house around 1am and fell asleep immediately! It was an awesome night!
