Some of you may remember a month or so ago, I ran a giveaway with Kinderwagon and one of my very lucky followers got a double stroller out of it!
I’m back now to talk a little bit more about Kinderwagon and why I love it so much.
This double stroller is one of the coolest ones I’ve used! Back when I was a nanny last year I bought a huge double stroller that was definitely neat, but very bulky, heavy, and kind of a pain. I had to take both seats off in order to fold it up, and then put them back on after I unfolded it. I appreciated the many ways it could be used but it was just more work than it was worth. And GIANT.
The Kinderwagon Hop has a very small footprint, so it is not much larger than your average umbrella stroller. You might think this would affect the quality and overall structural integrity of the stroller, not to mention the comfort of the riders, but it doesn’t!
This double stroller would be great for city dwellers especially because it folds up VERY easily and really quite small. It’s maybe a foot (maybe less) or so longer than an average umbrella stroller and slightly more bulky but for a double stroller it gets crazy small! All it takes is kicking up the same lever you used to unfold it, kicking down another, smaller lever, and folding! It also has a strap on the side so that it won’t keep coming unfolded when you need it to stay together. I move it from place to place easily by simply rolling it on its back wheels when it’s folded up. If I need to lift it into my van, it’s not very heavy at all.
I think it’s also important that I mention the fact that the Kinderwagon Hop came pretty much already assembled.
All I had to do was add the wheels (which was super easy). The Hop comes with a rain cover, and a sun shade that is really easy to add and remove. It may be a bit inconvenient if you have a taller child in the top seat because it comes pretty low so it can cover both seats. It does cover both children fully, though, which I think is amazing.
Each set of seats has its own foot rest and so far the back child kicking the front one hasn’t been an issue, which was something I was concerned with. The front seat has an adjustable bottom part (I don’t know the word for it) that you can flip up for smaller babies, out for midsized babies, or all the way down for bigger kids. The front seat is also compatible with an infant car seat! If you want to get into the specifics of that or find out if your car seat is compatible, check out their website HERE.
The front spot reclines if you pull on the straps you will find at the back of the seat! The back/top seat leans back fairly far! That seat is great for napping babies! It goes down easy with a simple mechanism push, and comes right back up by pulling a strap.
We have LOVED using the Hop so far. I used it at the zoo a few times when I was watching another toddler, and I just used it again for walking the city with my son and his cousin (2nd, 3rd cousin? I’m not sure. Doesn’t matter).
Both times the Hop has been amazing to maneuver, easy to push, and just a pleasure to use. The wheels are chunky and made of thick foam so you don’t need to worry about one running out of air (which is why we haven’t used our original single stroller for a while). They also turn amazingly well, even on gravel, grass, or packed dirt! As you can imagine this stroller is also easy to get in and out of doors, up and down stairs, and through shops.
I’m a bit of a stroller lover (I think from working at the zoo and seeing SO MANY different ones before I had kids) so believe me when I say that Kinderwagon has GOT IT RIGHT.
This stroller is a game changer!
I am constantly being stopped by other mamas who have never seen anything like it! I always tell them all about it as if I was a salesman myself, making a commission! When I find a cool product, I LOVE sharing it with other parents (which is why I do this blogging thing).
