I’m excited to be working with a lot of great brands for Leopold’s bedroom update! It will likely be a bit of a long post, or maybe a post in two parts, I haven’t decided yet. Because of this, I’m going to show you his bedroom ‘before’ pictures separately.
I didn’t want to update his room until he was in a toddler bed, but I just couldn’t take it anymore! After we got the cutest tee pee from Best Choice Products to review, I was inspired and I had to take action. You can’t just put a cute teepee in an ugly room…it doesn’t work!
We moved into this house in February, and since November is now drawing to a close, this was way past due! The wall color wasn’t terrible but there were huge brown chips in the paint that made it look like he was living in a one star motel room. The room never really felt ‘clean’ because there was no flow and no order.
Leopold has lived in three different houses since he was born. In the first two, I made his room a priority and it was always the first thing to get updated. His room was always my favorite because I was proud of the work I had done and loved the finished feel of them.
To be able to FINALLY get to work on his room felt amazing. Sure, I ended up painting it all by myself (and I hate painting). I just didn’t want to wait until my husband felt like it.
Leopold slept in the pack and play in the guest room for about a week to avoid the paint fumes. Meanwhile I worked on it in the evenings when my husband got home. He is finally back in his bed, and the room is ALMOST done. I am so excited to be able to share it with you!
In the mean time, check out these before photos!
- The carpet is a 15$ ‘scrap’ rug from Target
- The shelf was a hand me down
- Everything you see on the walls was hung on nails and hooks left by the previous owners
Like I said, there was no rhyme or reason or order other than ‘hot mess’.
